About Us
Unicorn Persian Rugs follows in the footsteps of the founders of the original Unikorn, Herman and Fanny Korn, Brisbane's most respected and trustworthy rug merchants since 1965.
Unicorn Persian Rugs only import hand-knotted tribal/nomadic and village rugs from (mainly) Iran and Afghanistan. We also stock a range of collectable Oriental Kelims (all flat weave) mostly circa 1940.
We do not stock products from carpet industry workshops often called "City Rugs". We travel to our source countries twice a year and hand pick each unique piece personally.
We hope that our sample gallery on this website will entice you to come and see the rugs in our showroom. This is because photos often do not do justice to our beautiful rugs which must be viewed in person to appreciate the wonderful patina of the old pieces, their range of colours and how the colours change whether you look into or against the pile of the weave.
